DescriptionDescription: The Messaging Engine failed to add a receive URL "TestFileReceive" to the adapter "FILE". Reason: "File transport does not have read/write privileges for receive location \\FILESERVER\Share\Test\.

CAUSE


This behavior occurs because the account or accounts that the BizTalk Server receive location is using to access a folder or a file share do not have the correct permissions at the file system level or at the file share level.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this behavior, grant the following permissions to the account or accounts that the BizTalk Server Receive location is using to access the folder or the file share.

1. Determine the account or accounts that the receive location is using to access the folder or the file share:
a. Click Start, point to Programs, point to Microsoft BizTalk Server 2004, and then click BizTalk Server Administration.
b. Expand Microsoft BizTalk Server 2004, and then click the Receive Locations folder.
c. Double-click the receive location that is accessing the file share or the folder to view the Properties dialog box for the receive location.
d. Make a note of the receive handler that is specified for this receive location, and then click OK
e. Click the Hosts folder, and then click the host that is the receive handler for the receive location.
f. Double-click each server for this host. For each server, verify that the logon that is specified for the server has the correct permissions to the folder or to the file share.

2. Grant the following permissions at the file system level:
• List Folder / Read Data

• Delete SubFolder and Files.
To do this, follow these steps:
a. Right-click the folder, and then click Properties.
b. Click the Security tab, and then click Advanced.

3. Grant the following permission at the share level:
• Full Control
To do this, follow these steps:
a. Right-click the shared folder, and then click Properties. b. Click the Sharing tab.
Note : You only have to perform this step if the receive location is configured to monitor a file share.
