DescriptionThe database "<name>" has reached the maximum allowed size. Attempting to unmount the database.
Event InformationAccording to Microsoft:
CAUSE:
This issue may occur if the Exchange mailbox store database has reached the 16-GB size limit. The Messaging Database (MDB) shuts down automatically and will not restart as soon as the mailbox store database has reached the maximum size limit. This behavior is by design to keep the system from trying to insert more data into the mailbox store database than the mailbox store database was designed to handle.
RESOLUTION:
To resolve this issue, new functionality has been added to Exchange 2000 Standard Edition that allows an administrator to:
1. Temporarily increase the database size limit by 1 GB.
2. Selectively remove unnecessary database content.
3. Defragment the database to reduce the database to a level that is in the defined boundaries of the database size.

This information from some newsgroups may help you:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The system is either out of disk space or has exceeded the amount of space allocated for the configured Exchange version. Determine if the specified disk is full. Also be sure that write permission for the target file have been granted. Defragment the database by running Eseutil /d. To use the Eseutil.exe utility, stop the Information Store service. If the service is not stopped, an error will be returned. Once defragmenting is complete, restart the Information Store service.
