DescriptionThis is Trend Micro’s generic detection for unknown variants of the IRCBOT family of backdoor programs. It leaves infected systems open to remote and unauthorized access. This memory-resident backdoor opens a port and waits for connection from a remote attacker. It utilizes Internet Relay Chat (IRC) to carry out its backdoor routines and allows the remote malicious user to execute a series of commands, which adversely compromises system system security. This backdoor runs on Windows 95, 98, ME, 2000, XP and NT.
