This addresses why you might want to use full duplex (and what some of the cons are too). But it has some other interesting information as well. If you want to see if you are at 10 or 100 (or whatever) Mbps you can do the following:
1. Open control panel
2. Select "Network and Internet Connections"
3. Select "Network Connections"
4. Select (highlight) the "Local Area Connection" (or if you have bridged connections select that)
5. Select "View status of this connection"
6. Look for the line "Speed:" the number indicated is the connections speed.
