| Event Information | According To Microsoft: Explanation: Password Synchronization failed when attempting to synchronize passwords from a Windows NT environment to a UNIX environment. Password propogation failed. Cause: Event 8197: An error occurred while connecting to hostname at the specified port. Resolution: Event 8197: An error occurred while connecting to hostname at the specified port. Verify that the host is operational, and is running the Single Sign-on Daemon (SSOD) on the specified port. A Winsock error is logged in the Event Viewer message data. |
