DescriptionThe start type of the IPSEC Services service was changed from disabled to auto start.
Event InformationAccording to Microsoft :
Cause :
This event is logged when there were changes in the service settings (for example, the start up type was changed from Automatic to Manual), the service may be unable to start.
Resolution :
Restore the default settings
To perform this procedure, you must have membership in Administrators, or you must have been delegated the appropriate authority.
Restore the default settings of the service
To restore the default settings of the service:
1.Open the Services snap-in by clicking theStart button,Control Panel, andAdministrative Tools, then double-clicking Services.
Note:
For Windows Vista, use theClassic View display option inControl Panel to see the Administration Tools.
2.In the details pane of theServices snap-in, right-click on the name of the service you want to start and selectProperties.
3.Click theLog On tab and note the account listed underLog On As.
4.Restore the default settings.

Cause:

A corrupted file in the policy store causes this problem. An interruption that occurs when the policy is being written to the disk may cause the corruption.

Resolution:
To resolve this issue, delete the following registry subkey and then rebuild the policy:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\IPSec\Local
To do this, follow these steps.

1. Delete the local policy registry subkey. To do this, follow these steps:
a.Click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then click OK.
b.In Registry Editor, locate and then click the following subkey:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\IPSec\Policy\Local
c.On the Edit menu, click Delete.
d.Click Yes to confirm that you want to delete the subkey.
e.Quit Registry Editor

2.Rebuild a new local policy store. To do this, follow this step:a. Click Start, click Run, type regsvr32 polstore.dll, and then click OK.
