The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer. This error occurs because the account that the APS is running under is the LocalSystem account that does not have access to the network location of the APS database. If the APS database is on a different computer than the APS, the account that the APS runs under must have access to the network computer that the APS database is on.
The account that the APS runs under must be changed to a domain account with access to the location of the APS database.
To change the APS account, complete the following steps:
1. Open the CCM and ensure that the APS is stopped.
2. Right-click the APS and click 'Properties' on the submenu.
3. On the 'Properties' tab, clear the 'System Account' box.
4. Enter a domain user name in the 'User' box and a password in the 'Password' box if applicable.
5. Click 'Apply' and then click 'OK'.
When you start the APS, it will start successfully.
