DescriptionSensor %4 of External Storage device on Port %3 of %2, is reporting the correction of a previously existing temperature condition. All of the temperature sensors in the external storage device are now reporting acceptable temperature levels.
Event InformationWhen a Smart Array Controller is attached to the ProLiant internal storage drive cage with one or more SCSI hard drives installed, the CPQDAEN.SYS and CPQCISSE.SYS drivers may log incorrect messages to the Windows System Event Viewer log indicating an external storage device error condition occurred on an internal storage device. This occurs on ProLiant servers running any edition of Microsoft Windows 2000 Server or Microsoft Windows Server 2003 configured with Smart Array or Smart Array 5x series controllers.
Any ProLiant server running any edition of Microsoft Windows 2000 Server or Microsoft Windows Server 2003 configured with Smart Array or Smart Array 5x series controllers with the following drivers:
1. CPQDAEN.SYS version 5.24.2.0B (or earlier) - ProLiant Drive Array Notification driver for Windows 2000/Server 2003
2. CPQCISSE.SYS version 5.44.0.32 (or earlier) - ProLiant Smart Array 5x and 6x Controller Driver for Windows 2000/Server 2003
Upgrade the configuration with the appropriate updated driver version as follows:
1. An updated CPQCISSE.SYS driver version 5.48.0.32.
2. An updated CPQDAEN.SYS driver version 5.26.0.0.
The CPQDAEN.SYS driver supports all Smart Array Controllers, and the CPQCISSE.SYS driver supports all Smart Array 5x Controllers by providing event notification to the Windows System Event Log as well as the ProLiant Integrated Management Log.
