Only problems we can now find are that some messages when read hang RPCServ.exe on the server which is a Groupshield 6 module. When this hangs, a client mailbox will also freeze. Killing the process releases the client, but then the message body doesnt show.
Cant find anything on this anywhere apart from some references to a Beta version of GSE - but no solution. One message this problem off reliably is ""Your mailbox is over its size limit"". Other problem may be related is that the server stops sending UDP alerts to client about this yet - as it may be down to everything need a final reboot.
If you have virus software on an exchange server for file scanning then dont scan any IIS folders (for performance reasons) or any exchange folder (......\exchsrvr) files. If you do it is documented that, quote ""At some place you will get a corruption"" caused by file scanning the databases.
To work around this issue, temporarily disable antivirus scanning. To disable antivirus scanning, you need to edit the registry:
1. Quit the MSExchangeIS service. Typically, if the information store is using 100 percent of your computers CPU, you cannot quit the service gracefully. Instead, you must use Task Manager to end the process.
2. Quit all of the GroupShield services.
3. Start Registry Editor (Regedt32.exe).
4. Locate the Enabled value under the following registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\MSExchangeIS\VirusS can
5. On the Edit menu, click DWORD, type ""0"" (without the quotation marks) (zero), and then click OK.
6. Quit Registry Editor.
7. Start the MSExchangeIS service.
8. From a command prompt, type ""tlist -m gsevs.dll"".
9. In the resulting list, verify that the GroupShield scanning DLL is not loaded on Store.exe.
