Cause :
This event is logged when the processing of Group Policy failed.
Resolution :
Correct retrieving linked Group Policy objects
The Group Policy service failed to obtain a list of Group Policy objects (GPOs) linked to an Active Directory object.
To correct retrieving a list of linked GPOs:
1.Find the error code displayed in the error event. The error code appears on theDetails tab of the error event. The error code and error description fields may help identify the reason for the failure.
2.Identify if the failure happened during user or computer processing. For user policy processing, theUser field of the event will show a valid user name; for computer policy processing, theUser field will show "SYSTEM".
3.Verify permissions on the Active Directory object listed in the error event. The object should have the following attributes available with read access for the user or computer account:
a)gPLink
b)gPOptions
Verify :
Group Policy applies during computer startup and user logon. Afterward, Group Policy applies every 90 to 120 minutes. Events appearing in the event log may not reflect the most current state of Group Policy. Therefore, you should always refresh Group Policy to determine if Group Policy is working correctly.
To refresh Group Policy on a specific computer:
1)Open theStart menu. ClickAll Programs and then clickAccessories.
2)Click Command Prompt.
3)In the command prompt window, typegpupdate and then press ENTER.
4)When the gpupdate command completes, open the Event Viewer.
