DescriptionThe Active Directory Rights Management Services (AD RMS) provisioning process failed to modify the web.config file for the AD RMS Web services. The web.config file is used by AD RMS to configure the AD RMS Web services.
Event InformationAccording to Microsoft :
Cause :
This event is logged when the Active Directory Rights Management Services (AD RMS) provisioning process failed to modify the web.config file for the AD RMS Web services.
Resolution :
Install AD RMS
There are several conditions that will prevent a successful upgrade to AD RMS from a previous version of Rights Management Services (RMS). These conditions include:
1.The RMS logging service does not exist.
2.The AD RMS upgrade wizard cannot locate or modify the RMS web.config file.
3.The AD RMS upgrade wizard cannot locate the RMS virtual directories.
4.RMS is installed on the computer but not provisioned.
Because the AD RMS upgrade did not work properly, you will need to install AD RMS again.
Note :
To perform this procedure, you must be a member of the local Administrators group, or you must have been delegated the appropriate authority.
To install the AD RMS role by using Server Manager:
1.ClickStart, point toAdministrative Tools, and then click Server Manager.
2.In theRoles Summary section, clickAdd Roles, and then clickNext.
3.Select the Active Directory Rights Management Services check box, and then clickNext.
4.Complete the appropriate information in the AD RMS role wizard setup.
5.ClickInstall.
6.When the installation is complete, clickClose.
Verify :
To perform this procedure, you must be a member of the local AD RMS Enterprise Administrators group, or you must have been delegated the appropriate authority.
To verify that the AD RMS cluster installation is working properly:
1.Log on to a server in the AD RMS cluster.
2.ClickStart, point toAdministrative Tools, and then clickActive Directory Rights Management Services.
3.Verify that the AD RMS cluster was added successfully by expanding the AD RMS cluster name.
