DescriptionThe DHCP service was unable to read the global BOOTP file name from the registry.
Event InformationAccording to Microsoft:
Cause :
This event is logged when the DHCP service was unable to read the global BOOTP file name from registry.
Resolution :Create or add entries to the BOOTP table
The BOOTP table is empty. If the BOOTP table is missing or empty, BOOTP cannot read the table to obtain configuration information for its clients.
Note :
To perform these procedures, you must be a member of the Administrators group, or you must have been delegated the appropriate authority.
To create or add an entry to the BOOTP table:
1.At the DHCP server computer, click Start, point to Administrative Tools, and then click DHCP.
2.In the DHCP console tree, click BOOTP Table.
3.On the Action menu, click New Boot Image.
4.In the Add BOOTP Entry dialog box, enter the required information.
5.Click Add.
6.Repeat the previous two steps for each additional BOOTP entry you want to add, and then click Close.
Verify :
To perform these procedures, you must be a member of the Administrators group, or you must have been delegated the appropriate authority.
To verify that the BOOTP table exists and has entries, perform the following steps:
1.At the DHCP server computer, clickStart, point to Administrative Tools, and then clickDHCP.
2.In the DHCP console tree, click the DHCP server you want to configure
3.On theAction menu, clickProperties.
4.Verify that theShow the BOOTP table folder check box is selected.
5.If the check box is cleared, select it, and then clickOK.
6.In the DHCP console tree, clickBOOTP Table.
7.BOOTP entries, if any have been added to the BOOTP table, appear in the details pane.
