Event Information | According To Microsoft: Cause: This error appears when the DFS Replication service has stopped due to an internal error. Resolution: User Action: The Service Control Manager will automatically attempt to restart DFS Replication after 30 minutes. If restart attempts fail, you should check the System Event Log for entries related to DFS Replication and abnormal termination. Prior to Service Control Manager’s automatic restart, you can manually restart the DFS Replication service using the Services snap-in: 1. Click Start, point to All Programs, point to Administrative Tools, and then click Services. 2. In the Services list, right-click DFS Replication, and then click Start. 3. To restart the DFS Replication service from the command prompt: Type net start dfsr at a command prompt. If the service fails to restart or if you see this error often, please check the Microsoft web site at http://support.microsoft.com for hotfixes or service packs for the DFS Replication Service. Prior to engaging CSS please collect the following information and have it ready for the support professional: 1. Collect all DFS Replication debug logs from %Windows%\debug\DFSR*. 2. Save the DFS Replication event viewer log. 3. Use dfsrdiag.exe to dump DFS Replication configuration to a text file by using the following commands: 4. dfsrdiag dumpadcfg >DFSR_AD_CFG.txt 5. dfsrdiag DumpMachineCfg >DFSR_MACHINE_CFG.txt 6. Note the service pack level of the server in question and whether any DFS Replication hotfixes are installed on it. |
