Description | W32.Beagle.F@mm is a mass-mailing worm that opens a backdoor on TCP port 2745 and uses its own SMTP engine to spread through email. W32.Beagle.F@mm also attempts to spread across file-sharing networks, such as Kazaa and iMesh, by dropping itself into the directories that contain "shar" in their names. |

Attack | According to Symantec Removal using the W32.Beagle@mm Removal Tool Symantec Security Response has developed a removal tool to clean the infections of W32.Beagle.F@mm. This is the easiest way to remove this threat and should be tried first. Manual Removal The following instructions pertain to all current and recent Symantec antivirus products, including the Symantec AntiVirus and Norton AntiVirus product lines. 1.Disable System Restore (Windows Me/XP). 2.Update the virus definitions. 3.Reverse the changes that the worm made to the registry, and then restart the computer. 4.Run a full system scan and delete all the files detected as W32.Beagle.F@mm. |
