| Event Information | According to Microsoft: CAUSE : This behavior may occur if certain users or distribution lists are explicitly granted permissions to create top-level public folders or are explicitly denied permissions to create top-level public folders on the Exchange Server 5.5 computer. WORKAROUND : To work around this behavior, you must reset the default top-level public folders permissions on the Exchange Server 5.5 computer. To do this, follow these steps: 1. Connect to the Exchange 5.5 Server computer by using the Microsoft Exchange Administrator program. 2. Expand Site, and then click Configuration. 3. In the right pane, double-click Information Store Site Configuration. 4. Click the Top Level Folder Creation tab. 5. To reset the default top-level public folders permissions, under Allowed to create top level folders, click All, under Not allowed to create top level folders, click None, and then click OK. 6. On the Exchange 5.5 Server computer, restart the Exchange Information Store service. To do this: a. Click Start, point to Programs, point to Administrative Tools, and then click Services. b. Right-click the Microsoft Exchange Information Store service, and then click Restart. c. Click Yes if you are prompted to restart other services. 7. On the Exchange 2000 Server computer, restart the Active Directory Connector service. To do this: a. Click Start, point to Programs, point to Administrative Tools, and then click Services. b. Right-click the Microsoft Active Directory Connector service, and then click Restart. 8. Wait approximately 30 minutes. After approximately 30 minutes, replication should occur and the missing Exchange 2000 objects should appear in the Exchange Administrator program on the Exchange 5.5 Server computer. E-mail should work correctly in both directions. |
