Description | LDAP returned the error [<error code>] <text> when importing the transaction <object name><distinguished name> |
Event Information | According to Microsoft: EXPLANATION: There can be several causes for such an event, ranging from lack of permissions to a non-functional domain controller or global catalog. USER ACTION: The resolution will depend on the underlying cause of the problem. Look closely at the error code indicated in the event, the Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) operation being performed (for example add or modify), and the object referenced in the event. For example, if the error code is 44 (already exists) and an LDAP ADD operation is being performed, this means that the Active Directory Connector (ADC) tried to add an object in the target directory and could not do so because the object already existed. The following are a few items to check: 1. Check if the latest (Exchange 2000) version of the ADC is installed. 2. If this is a migration scenario from Exchange Server 5.5, and an Exchange 5.5 server is involved, ensure that the Exchange 5.5 Organization does not have a dot character (.) in its name. 3. If the LDAP operation is an ADD operation, ensure there are no duplicate objects or attributes in Active Directory. |
