DescriptionPrintbrm.exe (the Printer Migration Wizard or the command-line tool) failed to restore the standard TCP/IP printer port %2 because the length of the host IP address %1 is too long to be restored on operating systems older than Windows Vista.

Cause :

This event is logged when Printbrm.exe (the Printer Migration Wizard or the command-line tool) failed to restore the standard TCP/IP printer port.

Resolution :

Recreate the printer port

To resolve this error, use the following procedure:
  1. In the Printers folder in Control Panel or the Print Management snap-in, right-click the affected printer, and then click Properties .
  2. Click the Ports tab.
  3. Click Add Port , and then follow the instructions on the screen to recreate the affected port.
Verify :

To verify that you resolved the problem, send a document to the printer by using the appropriate port, and then examine the document to confirm that it printed correctly.

Note : If the print server logs spooler information events, Windows logs Print Spooler Event 10 after each successful printing operation.
