DescriptionPrintbrm.exe (the Printer Migration Wizard or the command-line tool) failed to restore the standard TCP/IP printer port %1. Error: %2. This can occur if the backup file contains incomplete data about the port, or if the port or port settings are incompatible with the version of Windows installed on the destination computer. Recreate the affected port on the destination computer.

Cause :

This event is logged when Printbrm.exe (the Printer Migration Wizard or the command-line tool) failed to restore the standard TCP/IP printer port.

Resolution :

Recreate the printer port

To resolve this error, use the following procedure:
  1. In the Printers folder in Control Panel or the Print Management snap-in, right-click the affected printer, and then click Properties .
  2. Click the Ports tab.
  3. Click Add Port , and then follow the instructions on the screen to recreate the affected port.
Verify :

To verify that you resolved the problem, send a document to the printer by using the appropriate port, and then examine the document to confirm that it printed correctly.

Note : If the print server logs spooler information events, Windows logs Print Spooler Event 10 after each successful printing operation.
