Description | The DNS server is configured to forward to a non-recursive DNS server at IP_Address. |
Event Information | CAUSE: Certain queries to the DNS server (like a reverse lookup)
result in a response that contains a damaged data section, and this can occur
when the data in the packet uses compression, poor internet connection, internet
connection is saturated or not working properly. The damaged data packet causes
the buffer to be overrun, which causes the DNS service to generate an access
violation error message and hang. Another reason may be an invalid character in Domain name, DNS name which contains characters other than "a-z", "A-Z", "0-9", "-", ".". Some of the DNS servers may not enforce RFC 952 and query with invalid name from these servers may reached to other DNS servers for processing, and will generates this event. To avoid such situations, Microsoft recommend to disable forwarders RESOLUTION: Obtain the latest service pack for Windows 2000 may be resolve this issue.
