| Event Information | Compaction is the online process of defragmentation and reclaiming disk space. Defragmentation is the offline process of reclaiming disk space and defragmenting the database files. Defragmentation is accomplished with the Eseutil.exe utility with the /d switch. You may want to perform offline maintenance. Use Eseutil.exe with the /d switch to defragment the database file in question. Note that the disk space required is equal to twice the size of the database being processed. The utility Eseutil.exe may be found in \Exchsrvr\Bin. |
