Event Information | According to Microsoft : Cause : This event is logged when a service may have a dependency on a service group. If the dependent groups have not started, then the service will not start. Resolution : Check that the dependent service groups have started and then start the service To perform these procedures, you must have membership in Administrators, or you must have been delegated the appropriate authority. Check that the dependent service groups have started To check that the dependent service groups have started: 1.Open theServices snap-in by clicking theStart button, Control Panel, and Administrative Tools, then double-clicking Services.Note: For Windows Vista, use theClassic View display option inControl Panel to see theAdministration Tool. 2.In the details pane of theServices snap-in, right-click on the name of the service you want to start and selectProperties. 3.Click theDependencies tab and note the service groups listed under This service depends on the following system components. 4.For each of the dependentservice groups, in the details pane of the Services snap-in, verify that the Status column shows a status of Started for each of the services in that service group. If any service in a dependent service group has not started, follow the To start a service procedure below. Start the service To start a service: 1.Open theServices snap-in by clicking theStart button, Control Panel, andAdministrative Tools, then double-clickingServices. Note: For Windows Vista, use theClassic View display option inControl Panel to see theAdministration Tool.2.In the details pane of theServices snap-in, right-click on the name of the service you want to start and select Start. Verify : To perform this procedure, you must have membership inAdministrators, or you must have been delegated the appropriate authority. To verify that a service has started: 1.Open theServices snap-in by clicking theStart button,Control Panel, andAdministrative Tools, then double-clickingServices. Note: For Windows Vista, use theClassic View display option inControl Panel to see theAdministration Tools. 2.In the details pane of theServices snap-in, locate the name of the service and verify that theStatus column shows a status ofStarted. ---------------------------------------------------------- Cause: The service is dependent on other members of the group, the service did not start. Resolution: The person with administrative rights should check for any service-related errors that could have caused this error. He should also check the computers configuration. |
