Event Information | According to Microsoft : Cause : This event is logged when the Terminal Services license server role was not changed. Resolution : Use an Enterprise Admins account to change the discovery scope of the Terminal Services license server To resolve this issue, use an account that has membership in the Enterprise Admins group in Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS) to change the discovery scope of the Terminal Services license server. To perform this procedure, you must have membership in the Enterprise Admins group in AD DS, or you must have been delegated the appropriate authority. To change the discovery scope:- On the license server, open TS Licensing Manager. To open TS Licensing Manager, click Start, point to Administrative Tools, point to Terminal Services, and then click TS Licensing Manager.
- If the User Account Control dialog box appears, confirm that the action it displays is what you want, and then click Continue.
- In the left pane, click All Servers, click the name of the license server, and then on the Action menu, click Review Configuration.
- In the Configuration dialog box, click Change Scope.
- A message appears informing you that Enterprise Admins privileges are required to change the discovery scope of the license server. Click OK.
- Select the appropriate discovery scope for the license server (either This domain or The forest), and then click OK.
- A message appears confirming that the discovery scope for the license server has changed. Click OK.
- The new discovery scope for the license server will be displayed at the top of the Configuration dialog box.
- Click OK to close the Configuration dialog box.
Verify : To verify the discovery scope configuration of the license server, use Review Configuration in TS Licensing Manager. To perform this procedure, you must have membership in the local Administrators group, or you must have been delegated the appropriate authority. To verify the discovery scope configuration:- On the license server, open TS Licensing Manager. To open TS Licensing Manager, click Start, point to Administrative Tools, point to Terminal Services, and then click TS Licensing Manager.
- If the User Account Control dialog box appears, confirm that the action it displays is what you want, and then click Continue.
- In the left pane, click All Servers.
- In the right pane, in the Configuration column, an entry of OK should appear in the row for the license server.
- To review the configuration details of the license server, right-click the license server that you want to review, and then click Review Configuration.
- There should not be any error or warning messages related to discovery in the Configuration dialog box.
Note : To verify that the terminal server can discover (contact) the license server, use Licensing Diagnosis in the Terminal Services Configuration tool on the terminal server. |
