Description | During transfer of zone %1 from master at %2, the DNS Server received a CNAME (alias) resource record (RR) for domain node %3 for which other records of that name were already received. When used, the CNAME RR must be the only record for its domain name. The CNAME RR for %3 will be ignored. |
Event Information | According to Microsoft : CAUSE: The two CNAME aliases listed in the error message contain references to each other, creating a CNAME loop. CNAMES allow you to use more than one name to identify a host. RESOLUTION: Delete one of the CNAME records from the database file: 1. In DNS Manager, double-click the specified file. 2. Right-click one of the specified CNAME records in the right pane, and click Delete Record. 3. Click DNS on the menu bar, and click Update Server Data Files. |
