DescriptionFailed to install or update driver %1 on cluster spooler resource %2. Win32 error: %3. The printer driver is different from the driver in use on other computers (nodes) in the cluster. This can occur because of a transient failure in replication between nodes, or if the nodes are running Windows 2000 (which does not automatically replicate drivers).

Resolution :

Update the printer driver

To update the printer driver on one node of a failover cluster with the same version of the printer driver that is used on other computers in the cluster, use the following procedure:
  1. Open Event Viewer, and in the Windows Logs, System log , look for Print Spooler Event 60. In the event log message, make a note of the printer driver that Windows could not install or update.
  2. In Control Panel , open Printers , right-click a blank area of the window, click Server Properties , and then click the Drivers tab.
  3. In the Installed printer drivers list, click the driver that you want to update, and then click Reinstall .
  4. Click Yes . Windows reinstalls the driver files, including any installed drivers for client computers that use a different processor architecture or a different version of Windows. The system might prompt you for the path to the drivers.
Verify :

To verify that you resolved the problem, check the driver versions for the affected printer by performing the following procedure on each node of the cluster:
  1. In Control Panel , open Printers, right-click a blank area of the window, click Server Properties , and then click the Drivers tab.
  2. Select the affected printer driver, and then click Properties .
  3. Select Driver File , and then click Properties .
  4. Click the Version tab, and then verify that the version number is the same as that listed on every node of the cluster.
