Event Information | When Backup Exec 9.0 is installed on a media server (a media server is the server to which the backup device is attached), it installs the Backup Exec Remote Agent for Windows Servers. The Backup Exec Remote Agent for Windows Servers is an integral service on the Backup Exec 9.0 media server as well as remote servers. VERITAS Backup Exec (tm) 9.x for Windows Servers makes use of Network Data Management Protocol (NDMP). This protocol uses port 10000 to perform its network tasks. If this port is in use during the Remote Agent installation, the install will fail . |
