Description | The following error occurred while reading a parameter DnsAvoidRegisterRecords in the Netlogon Group Policy registry section: Illegal operation attempted on a registry key that has been marked for deletion. For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp. |
Event Information | According to Microsoft: CAUSE: When a Group Policy object that contains defined Net Logon policies is refreshed, the Group Policy object searches for certain registry entries that correspond to Net Logon policies in the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Netlogon\Parameters registry subkey. If the Group Policy object cannot find the registry entries, the Group Policy setting is not applied, and Net Logon events are generated. RESOLUTION: A supported fix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem. Apply it only to computers that are experiencing this specific problem. You have to restart the Net Logon service after you apply this hotfix. |
