| Event Information | An error occurred while querying the file for its OS/2 extended attributes. If the file has extended attributes, they will not be backed up. For further information about this error, the data portion of the Event Viewer error can be examined for specific error code information by following these steps: 1. Open the Event in the Event Viewer. 2. At the bottom of the Event, change the "Data" from Bytes to Words and write down the last four numbers in the numeric value listed in the first field. 3. Open the Windows Calculator (from the Start | Programs | Accessories menu) 4. On the "View" menu, select "Scientific" and "Hex" 5. Enter the number that was written down in Step 2 6. On the "View" menu, select "Decimal". This will change the number from a hex number to a decimal number. 7. Write down the decimal numeric value listed. 8. From a command prompt, type in "NET HELPMSG" followed by the number from Step 7. For example, c:\> NET HELPMSG 1058 The resulting message will provide further insight why the error occurred. |
