Event Information | According to Microsoft : Cause : This problem is caused by the following errors that occur during the installation of Windows Server 2003 SP1: 1.The Windows Server 2003 SP1 Storport driver (Storport.sys) does not correctly register itself as a System event producer with the System log. 2.Windows Server 2003 SP1 does not install the latest version of the IoLogMsg.dll file. This problem occurs because the IoLogMsg.dll file is not listed in the Spfiles.txt file. Because of this error, the following new Storport error log IDs are not resolved:REQUEST TIMEOUT => IO_WARNING_RESET HIERARCHICAL RESET => IO_WARNING_BUS_RESET Resolution : A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. This hotfix might receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, we recommend that you wait for the next service pack that contains this hotfix. |
