Description | An IO Request to the device \Device\NamedPipe did not complete or canceled within the specific timeout. This can occur if the device driver does not set a cancel routine for a given IO request packet. |
Event Information | Your Microsoft Windows 2000-based server may intermittently stop responding, and an event that is similar to the aboue is logged in the system event log. CAUSE : This problem may occur in the Named Pipes File System (NPFS) if the following conditions are true: A program requests an operation to be performed (for example, a read operation). NPFS obtains a shared lock on a Volume Control Block (VCB) and then obtains an exclusive lock on the same VCB to complete the operation. The operation is canceled by the program that requested the operation. RESOLUTION : A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft. |
