Description | License code(s) could not be activated Small Business Server 2003. |
Event Information | This information from some newsgroups may help you: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Use the Add License Wizard to re-issue CALs: 1. Click Start, and then click Server Management to start the Server Management tool. 2. Expand Standard Management, and then click Licensing. Details about the currently installed CALs appear in the details pane. 3. In the details pane, click Add Licenses to open the Add License Wizard, and then follow the wizard instructions. 4. On the Contact Method page, select whether you will use the Internet or the telephone to re-issue licenses. 5. After you complete the wizard, update the Licensing console to verify the successful re-issue of the CALs. Starting with a single 5 pack license, I went through the Add Licenses wizard. The wizard claims to have successfully activated the licenses, and on its last page shows 5 additional licenses for a new total of 10. However, at the bottom of this final wizard page, the message ""An automatic backup of the license store could not be created. To create a backup manually, use the Back Up License Wizard."" is also displayed. After the wizard is done, the Licenses screen shows Installed Licenses: 10, and the license code is displayed in the list view. Again, under the list view of license codes, the below message is displayed: ""Your client access licenses are not valid and cannot be restored from automatic backup. Only the minimum number of client access licenses will be available. To resolve this issue, restore the licenses from a valid backup by using the Restore License Wizard. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
