Event Information | According to Microsoft : Cause : This event is logged when the Windows Media Center Extender setup cannot create the user account for device. Resolution : Windows Media Center Extender Account Creation To determine how to fix this error condition, examine the error code reported in the event log message. The error code is displayed in the decimal numbers. The event log message can report the following error codes: Error code 0x8007012b Error code 0x8007012b This error indicates a file copy or permission problem. Media Center Extender Setup must be able to create a new user account on the Windows Media Center PC. This error condition indicates that there was a problem with creating the user profile. You should check for event ID 1509 with the Userenv event source for specific reasons for this error. To perform this procedure, you must be a member of the local Administrators group, or you must have been delegated the appropriate authority. To check for event ID 1509 in the event log: 1.Click Start, and then click Control Panel. 2.Double-click Administrative Tools, and then click Event Viewer. 3.If the User Account Control dialog box appears, confirm that the action it displays is what you want, and then click Continue. 4.Expand Application and Services Logs, and then click Media Center. 5.Look for an event with a Source named Userenv and an Event ID of 1509 Verify : You can verify that the Windows Media Center Extender user account was created using the event log. If the creation is successful, Event ID 506 with the Mcx2Prov event source will be written to the event log. To perform this procedure, you must be a member of the local Administrators group, or you must have been delegated the appropriate authority. To verify that Event ID 506 is being written to the event log: 1.Click Start, and then click Control Panel. 2.Double-click Administrative Tools, and then click Event Viewer. 3.If the User Account Control dialog box appears, confirm that the action it displays is what you want, and then click Continue. 4.Expand Application and Services Logs, and then click Media Center. 5.Look for an event with a Source named MCX2Prov and an Event ID of 506 Note: If more than one Extender is connected to a Windows Media Center PC, the Windows Media Center user account name is incremented. |
