Event Information | CAUSE:
This behavior can occur if the Adaptec Take Two version 1.01 software is installed.
RESOLUTION: To resolve this behavior, uninstall the Take Two software and contact Adaptec for a updated version. When you add random access memory (RAM) to a computer that is configured to create a crash dump (Memory.dmp) file, the size of the Pagefile.sys file does not automatically increase to accommodate the Memory.dmp file. Also, you may receive the following error message in the System Log: ANOTHER CAUSE: This behavior occurs to give administrators the flexibility to increase the size of the page file at their discretion. RESOLUTION: To work around this behavior, use the appropriate method: Increase the Size of the Pagefile.sys File To increase the size of the Pagefile.sys file: 1. Right-click My Computer, and then click Properties. 2. Click the Advanced tab, and then click Performance Options. 3. Under Virtual Memory, click Change. 4. Set the initial size of the page file that exists on the same partition as the operating system to be one and a half times the size of the amount of RAM installed in the computer. No Longer Want to Save the Memory.dmp File If you no longer want to save the Memory.dmp file: 1. Right-click My Computer, and then click Properties. 2. Click the Advanced tab, and then click Startup and Recovery. 3. Select none in the Write debugging information to option, and then click OK. 4. Restart your computer. |
