Description | The account that the MS DTC service is running under is invalid. This can happen if the service account information has been changed using the Services snap-in in Microsoft Management Console (MMC). MS DTC service will continue to start. Please make sure that the MS DTC service account information is updated using the component Services Explorer. |
Event Information | CAUSE: This may occur if the client is using a local account and the server authenticates against a domain controller. Changing the account under which the service is running, 1 Open services MMC in administrative tools of control panel 2 Right click the service and take the properties. 3 In Properties window open Logon tab and change the account information entered. Following information from a newsgroup post may help: "This means your account that you changed it to does not have rights on the %WINDIR%\system32\MsDtc directory. In Server 2003, you need to let it run under the Network Service account, there is no reason to change this." -------------------------------- "Try to configure the MSDTC service to start with the NTAUTHORITY\NetworkService account" -------------------------------- "Go to Control panel->services or Administrative Tools-> services and find the Distributed Transaction Coordinator service. There will be a properties box where you can change the login/password under which DTC runs. The error message states that the login/password is bad... (Maybe someone changed the password for the DTC login...)" -------------------------------- |
