Description | The scavenging time interval is computed by WINS using an algorithm that might use the specified maximum replication time interval. The current value achieves a good balance between consistency of databases across the network of WINS servers and the performance of the WINS servers. In this particular case, the value of the TombstoneInterval entry was inconsistent with the RefreshInterval and MaxReplTimeInterval entries. |
Event Information | User Action:
To correct this problem: 1) Open WINS. 2) Select the server and right-click on it. 3) Click Properties and then the Intervals tab. 4) Increase the Extinction timeout value to a value greater than the Extinction interval. For more information on the defaults, minimum, and maximum values for scavenging related parameters, refer to the TCP/IP documentation or help file. |
