Event Information | When you try to log on to Outlook Mobile Access for Microsoft Exchange Server 5.5, you may receive the following error message: 500 Server error Outlook Mobile Access for Microsoft Exchange Server 5.5 is a component of Microsoft Mobile Information Server. You log on by typing http://<MISservername>/OMA55 on the device.Additionally, the above event may be logged in the Application log alon with few more events from the same source. CAUSE : This problem may occur if the Microsoft Exchange 5.5 Information Store service was restarted. RESOLUTION: Restart the Exchange 5.5 data provider service on the computer running Mobile Information Server. CAUSE 2: This issue can occur because the timeout value for the Mobile Information Server Exchange Server 5.5 component has been exceeded. This value determines the time period that Mobile Information Server waits for a response from the Exchange Server 5.5 computer. RESOLUTION 2: To resolve this issue, increase the timeout value in the registry for the Mobile Information Server Exchange Server 5.5 component: 1. Start Registry Editor (Regedt32.exe). 2. Locate the MMIS55COMTimeout value under the following key in the registry: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\OMA55\MMIS55COMAccess 3. On the Edit menu, click DWORD, type 45, and then click OK. (See the following "Setting the Timeout Value" section in this article for more information about setting a value.) 4. Quit Registry Editor. |
