This event is logged when task Scheduler service failed to initialize LSA.

Resolution :

Fix problem related to LSA

Use the error code provided in the Local Security Authority (LSA) initialization failure event (event 407 or 704) to further identify the problem. Verify :

Verify the task compatibility module is started by checking for event 700 in the Microsoft-Windows-TaskScheduler/Operational event log. This task indicates the task compatibility module has started. Then verify that Task Scheduler 1.0 tasks are registered and run correctly.

To verify that event 700 is in the Event Viewer:
  1. Click the Start button and type Event Viewer in the Start Search box.
  2. Select the Event Viewer program to start Event Viewer.
  3. Locate the Microsoft-Windows-TaskScheduler/Operational event log by expanding the Applications and Services Logs folder, expanding the Microsoft folder, expanding the Windows folder, expanding the TaskScheduler folder, and then clicking the Operational event log.
  4. Verify that event 700 has been logged in the event log.
To verify that Task Scheduler 1.0 tasks are registered and run correctly:
  1. Click the Start button and type Task Scheduler in the Start Search box.
  2. Select the Task Scheduler program to start Task Scheduler.
  3. Click the Create Task action in Task Scheduler.
  4. On the General tab, set the Configure for box to Windows Server 2003, Windows XP , or Windows 2000 . This configures the task to be a Task Scheduler 1.0 task.
  5. On the General tab, specify a name for the task. On the Actions tab, specify an action for the task. On the Triggers tab, click New , and define a trigger for the task.
  6. Click OK .
  7. Verify that no errors are reported when the task is created by selecting the newly created task and then clicking the History tab. Verify that it does not show any partial registration failures for the task.
