Event Information | According to Microsoft: Possible Causes and Solutions : Web Service not started: The World Wide Publishing Service is not started. To start the service, use either the Services utility or the Internet Services Manager Administrative Tool. Web service improperly configured: The Web service must be configured properly. Review the authentication settings for the Application Center 2000 Administrative Site by using the Internet Information Services snap-in. The authentication method should be set to Integrated Windows authentication. No other authentication method should be used. Also, Read permissions should be set on the Home Directory property sheet. The path should point to: "\Program Files\Microsoft\Application Center 2000\Admin". No other permissions are necessary. Service configuration: One or more of the services that the Web Service depends on is not configured properly. Check the configuration by using the Services Administrative Tool. The services are the IIS Admin, Protected Storage, and the Remote Procedure Call (RPC) service. Other Solutions (listed in order of preference): 1. Restart the appropriate services. 2. Restart the computer. |
