Event Information | This information from some newsgroups may help you: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ You installed Norton AntiVirus Corporate Edition (NAVCE) 7.0x. The Windows Task Manager shows that the Defwatch.exe process is running at 90 percent CPU utilization and higher. This problem is resolved in Norton AntiVirus Corporate Edition 7.03 build 58e and later versions. This situation occurs with mismatched definitions. If you normally update your clients and NT servers with Update.exe, then you probably have mismatched definitions. Download, and then run the latest Intelligent Updater file or files to resolve the problem.To download the latest Intelligent Updater file or files: 1. Stop the Defwatch service from the Services Control Panel. 2. Download latest Intelligent Updater file or files for Norton AntiVirus Corporate Edition 7.0 from Symantec Security Response. 3. Select the appropriate Language and Product (Norton AntiVirus Corporate Edition), and then click Download Updates. 4. Download and run the yyyymmdd-version-x86.exe file (yyyymmdd-version indicates the date and version of the definition file). 5. Restart the Defwatch service. |
