Description | The task Mailbox Archiving Task for Server name failed to log on to Exchange server Server name using mailbox EnterpriseVault-Server name. Please ensure that the server is running and that the Vault Service account has sufficient permissions on the server. |
Event Information | The reason for these errors is the task is unable to log on to an Exchange Server. Confirm that the Exchange Server is running and that the account the task uses has the proper permissions: 1. Within Exchange System Manager, right-click on the Exchange Server object and select Properties. 2. Click the Security tab. 3. Highlight the Enterprise Vault account and use the scroll bar on the side of the permissions window to scroll down to Send As and Receive As permissions. The Enterprise Vault account associated with the task must have Send As and Receive As permissions on the Exchange Server object. 4. Select the Send As and Receive As permissions in the Allow column and confirm that they have been removed from the Deny column. If the permissions boxes are grey, then Send As and Receive As permissions have been inherited from above and you cannot cancel them. There are two methods to cancel Send As and Receive As inherited permissions. 1. On the Security tab, click Advanced 2. Clear the Allow inheritable permissions from parent to propagate to this object check box 3. Click Copy 4. Click OK 5. Click Yes 6. Select the Send As and Receive As boxes in the Allow column 7. Click OK 8. Attempt to start the Mailbox Archiving Task again |
