| Event Information | CAUSE: You must restore a backup of a system database (master, model, or msdb) on the same SQL Server build as the build on which the backup was originally performed. Installing a service pack or a hotfix build changes the server build number. RESOLUTION: If possible, restore the system database to an instance of SQL Server that is on the exact same build of sqlservr.exe. The alternative restore process is complex, and should only be chosen as a last resort. |
