Description | The replica of D:\ on [system_name] is inconsistent with the protected data source. All protection activities for data source will fail until the replica is synchronized with consistency check. (ID:3106) |
Event Information | According to HP: Resolution: DPM version 1 had a number of synchronization failure issues but this specific one seemed to be due to possible creation of Microsoft Office related temporary files on the protected item. In the DPM event, the descriptive text included the IDs 3106 and 109 and also the name of a file that could not be detected on the source volume. In this case, the files were always Office Excel or Word temporary files. Updating DPM version 1 with its Service Pack 1 resolved the issue. When installing DPM SP1, the update is performed on the DPM server; it is also necessary to remotely update the protected servers by copying the updated DPM agent and associated filter driver, FSRECORD.SYS, to them. This is done from the DPM Management Console under the Management tab where there is an Agents / Update item. |
