Description | The protocol handler SPSSearch.SPSImportHandler.1 cannot be loaded. Error description: The specified module could not be found |
Event Information | According to Microsoft: CAUSE: This problem may occur when a new portal site is created. The problem can creep in when an existing site is deleted and the search functionality stops working in the existing sites. It may even occur when new software is installed/uninstalled on the server which removes some of the dll files from the server. RESOLUTION To solve this problem, take the file spsimportph.dll from the path <Root>\Program Files\SharePoint Portal Server\bin and check for all the missing references of this file. If there are some missing references to this file then the search stops working and shows the error message and the log entry. Take all the missing referenced dll files and copy them to the “<Root>\Program Files\SharePoint Portal Server\bin” folder. Note: Don’t copy the files to the <Win Root>\System32\ |
