Description | Remote Storage failed to recall file \\RSS-SERVER\R$\Myfolder\bat0011.tmp. Media cannot be found. It may have been deallocated. (0x81010012) |
Event Information | The recall limit, also known as the "runaway recall limit," is set
to ensure that a user or service does not accidentally recall a large number of
files within a specified interval. For example, if the recall limit is set to
20, a user can recall more than 20 files. However, if the user recalls 20 files
each within 10 seconds of each successive recall, the recall limit count is
incremented until the limit is reached. When the limit is reached, the file is
not recalled and the event ID 3037 will be recorded in the Remote Storage and
Application Event log. The recall limit was put into place to restrict viruses or other programs that may be installed that do not operate on the migrated files properly. If the administrator needs be exempted from this restriction, follow these steps: 1. Start the Remote Storage snap-in in Microsoft Management Console (MMC) by clicking Start, pointing to Programs, pointing to Administrative Tools, and then clicking Remote Storage. 2. Right-click the Remote Storage (local) icon at the root of the snap-in, and then click Properties. 3. Click the Recall Limit tab. 4. Click to select the Exempt administrators from this limit check box. 5. Click OK to close the dialog box. A reboot is not necessary. For more information click on the following MS articles. |
