Resolution :
Check memory, restart Routing and Remote Access service, check TCP/IP settings, or reinstall RIP Possible resolutions: - This computer might be low on memory.
- Stop and restart the Routing and Remote Access service.
- Check TCP/IP settings. Use the netstat -a command to show the status of all activity on TCP and UDP ports on the local computer.
- Remove and reinstall RIP.
To perform these procedures, you must be a member of the Administrators group, or you must have been delegated the appropriate authority. Check memory usage on the server To check memory usage on the remote access server:- On the remote access server, click Start , click Run , type taskmgr , and then click OK .
- In the Windows Task Manager dialog box, click the Performance tab.
- Under Physical Memory , check the remote access server's memory usage.
- If necessary, free up available memory by ending non-essential applications or processes.
Restart the remote access service To restart the remote access service: - Open Routing and Remote Access. Click Start , click Run , type rrasmgmt.msc , and then press ENTER.
- By default, the local computer is listed as a server. To add another server, in the console tree, right-click Server Status , and then click Add Server . In the Add Server dialog box, click the appropriate option, and then click OK.
- In the console tree, right-click the server you want to restart, click All Tasks , and then click Restart .
Remove and reinstall RIP To remove and reinstall RIP: - Open Routing and Remote Access. Click Start , click Run , type rrasmgmt.msc , and then press ENTER.
- In the console tree, expand IPv4 , right-click RIP , and then click Delete .
- 3.Click Yes in the confirmation dialog box.
- Under IPv4 , right-click General , and then click New Routing Protocol .
- Click RIP Version 2 for Internet Protocol , and then click OK .
- Under IPv4 , right-click RIP , and then click New Interface .
- Click the interface for RIP, and then click OK .
- Modify the settings in the RIP properties dialog box, and then click OK.
Verify : To perform this procedure, you must have membership in Administrators , or you must have been delegated the appropriate authority. To verify that the Routing Table Manager (RTM) route has been added:- Stop and restart the Routing and Remote Access service.
- Click Start , click Run , type rrasmgmt.msc , and then press ENTER.
- 2.Open Routing and Remote Access.
- In the console tree, click Server Status .
In the details pane, right-click a server name, point to All Tasks , and click Restart. View the routing table. In the Routing and Remote Access snap-in, expand IPv4 or IPv6 , right-click Static Routes , and then click Show IP Routing Table . Verify that the route has been added. |
