Event Information | According to Microsoft : Cause : This event is logged when shadow copy of volume could not be created because volume, which is specified as part of the diff area, is not an NTFS volume or an error was encountered while trying to determine the file system type of this volume. Resolution : Move the Diff Area to a different volume You must configure the Diff Area so that it is stored on a different volume. This new volume must be an NTFS volume. To perform this procedure, you must have membership in Administrators , or you must have been delegated the appropriate authority. To move the Diff Area to a different volume: Caution : When you change the location of the Diff Area, all previous shadow copies are deleted.
The Diff Area is working correctly if a new shadow copy can be successfully created. To perform this procedure, you must have membership in Administrators , or you must have been delegated the appropriate authority. To create a new shadow copy:
