Event Information | According to McAfee Cause: In the Services.msc dialog, the Server service is not listed or is disabled. In the properties for the primary Local Area Connection, File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks is not installed Resolution: Install File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks under Network and Dial-up Connections: 1.Click Start, Settings, Control Panel, Network Connections. 2.Right-click on the primary Local Area Connection and select Properties. 3.Under This connection uses the following items, click Install. 4.Select Service and click Add. 5.Select File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks and click OK. 6.After the installation is complete, click Close to exit the properties dialog. NOTE: File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks must be installed for Alert Manager to send messages. After installation it can safely be disabled. After the installation of any new network service, it is recommended that the system be restarted. Verify that the Server service is set to Automatic and is started: 1.Click Start, Run, type services.msc, and click OK. 2.Locate the Server service. 3.Verify that the Status is Started and the Starup Type is Automatic. 4.If either setting is not correct, right-click Server and select Properties. 5.For Startup Type, use the drop-down menu to select Automatic. 6.If the service is not started, click Start. 7.Click OK. |
