Description | Service failed to recover from journal wrap or loss successfully on volume |
Event Information | According To Microsoft: Cause: DFS Replication failed to recover from an NTFS change journal wrap or loss. The recovery process is automated, but in this instance the service encountered a problem it could not automatically resolve. In the event an NTFS change journal is lost or corrupt, the system requires a minimum of 512 MB of free space on the volume to attempt to recreate the journal. Resolution: DFS Replication will attempt to recover from this problem automatically, but replication will not take place until the NTFS change journal recovery is complete. Verify that there is at least 512 MB of free space on the volume where the journal is stored. In the event the journal has an internal error and 512 MB of space cannot be recovered by moving or deleting files, you can run Chkdsk on the volume to recover the space used by the corrupt journal. In addition, if you see this error frequently you should run Chkdsk on the volume that contains the database to verify that the problem is not disk-related. |
