Event Information | CAUSE: This error occurs when the scripts generated by replication, or specified in a replication command, cannot be saved to the specified directory. Under certain circumstances you may see this error when manually executing sp_repladdcolumn even if you do not intentionally specify the @schema_change_script argument. RESOLUTION: Follow these steps: 1. If you are executing the replication stored procedures directly, doublecheck that all the parameters are correct. 2. If the calling process executes as sysadmin, check the permissions of the SQL Server startup account to create files in the snapshot folder or other specified directories.
