Event Information | According to Microsoft: CAUSE : This error can occur if several configuration settings are not set correctly. Verify that the permissions on the following items are set correctly: • The MsmqServices object in Active Directory • The user who is attempting the installation • Domain Name System (DNS) • The global catalog If the permissions are set correctly, and if the problem still occurs, the problem may occur because of a malformed subnet object within Active Directory. RESOLUTION : A supported hotfix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that this article describes. Apply it only to systems that are experiencing this specific problem. WORKAROUND : To work around this problem, follow these steps on the Domain Controller: 1. Open Active Directory Sites and Services. 2. Click to expand Sites. 3. Click to expand the site name where the appropriate Domain Controller is located. 4. Click to expand the subnet directory. A typical subnet object appears in the form 10.0.0.5\21. 5. If any subnet objects are malformed, delete them. In addition, if you use multiple Domain Controllers, force replication. |
