Event Information | The message transfer agent (MTA) either encountered an invalid object and cannot process it, or it has database corruption.
Stop and restart the MTA service. If the error persists, run the Mtacheck.exe utility. Stop the MTA service, open a command prompt, and type Mtacheck/v /f c:\mta.txt.
If Mtacheck removes objects from a database queue, it places each damaged object in a Db*.dat file in \Exchsrvr\Mtadata\Mtacheck.out. According to Microsoft: RESOLUTION: A supported fix is now available from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem. Apply it only to computers that are experiencing this specific problem. This fix may receive additional testing. Therefore, if you are not severely affected by this problem, Microsoft recommends that you wait for the next Microsoft Exchange Server 5.5 service pack that contains this fix.Because of file dependencies, this fix requires Microsoft Exchange Server version 5.5 Service Pack 4. |
